Location- Arvada sits just a few miles northwest of Denver, with beautiful views of the mountains to the w
est, and the Denver skyline to the east. With easy access to most highways in Colorado, a 20 minute drive from Arvada can lead to Downtown Denver, Boulder, Golden, the foothills, a handful of shopping malls, museums, or sports stadiums. The plans to expand the RTD Light Rail system to Arvada in the near future will put his city even closer to these other unique, Colorado sites.
Community-Living in Arvada gives a small town feel, even though the city has approximately 107,541 residents. Arvada is known for its support of small and local businesses, schools, sports and charities which all contribute to a very strong sense of community that is apparent across the city.
So much to do- Arvada has countless options on how to spend free time. Located in the heart of the city, Olde Town Arvada has dozens of local businesses including retail boutiques, restaurants, theatres and specialty shops. Olde Town is also the host of several events and festivals throughout the year, including a farmers market every weekend during the summer months, and the popular Harvest Festival and Parade each fall. Arvada is full of parks, open space and walking trails. The largest of these trails being the Ralston Creek Trail which runs through out the width of the city paralleling Ralston Creek, and speckled with many parks, ponds and play grounds along the way. Another fun thing to do in Arvada is enjoy all the theatres and playhouses in the city that feature native and resident performers. The largest of these theatre centers is the Arvada Center which produces musicals, plays, ballets and much more.
