Cayucos Rotarian Jessica Peterson Is Teacher of the Year

Cayucos Rotarian Jessica Peterson has been nominated as ‘Teacher of the Year’ in the Cayucos Elementary School District, for her outstanding connections with students, dedication to the teaching profession, and continual push for academic excellence.

Ms. Peterson, as her students call her, received an undergraduate degree and teaching credential from Western Illinois University. She has also completed graduate studies at the University of California, San Diego.

Jessica taught both high school and middle school in Illinois prior to accepting positions with Atascadero United and Lucia Mar Unified School Districts. Her current assignment of eights years include Language Arts, yearbook, and racquet sports for all middle school students in grades 6-8 at Cayucos Elementary School District. Ms Peterson’s students enjoy her classes because of the organized and positive environment she creates. “I really like her class because she makes it exciting.” Ms. Peterson expects us to work hard and do our best.” “She makes learning so easy and I look forward to her class.”

A Charter member and past club secretary, Jessica is currently the club’s New Generations Chair, as she continues to work with students and youths in Cayucos. For more information about the Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside.
