For me this is part of the RI coastal real estate of must do’s…living here and enjoying both the Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival is a gift! You must get creative and rent a boat, talk a friend into swimming Narragansett Bay with you over to it, rent hovercraft…there has to be a way to enjoy this music when it is sold out. And the Newport Folk Festival is sold out of tickets right now.

Restrictions on carry in items are stated clearly on the Newport Folk Festival web site. Be advised there are no exceptions and there is food, beer and water for sale by vendors on site.
We are so proud and lucky to have George Wein’s initiative in starting this music venue in our RI state. I have been drawn to the Folk Festival since I was a kid when big rockin’ names would power the music on. The festival is now a blend of rock, folk, gospel, blues, reggae and more. So much to appreciate for the true music lover.
