If You Can Smell It, I Can't Sell It!

When I take a listing I tell my clients once you have signed that paperwork your house becomes mine. Your bed must always be made, your sink empty, litter boxes clean, no frying foods and especially no cooking fish. You have to pretend you are showing every day. You cannot expect a potential buyer to spend the amount of time needed to fall in love with your house if they can't stop talking about the smell. If you can smell it I can't sell it! Unfortunately, sometimes we become accustomed to the smells in our own home and don't even notice them. Do yourself a favor and save your Realtor from having the awkward conversation with you about why (one of the reasons) your house may not be selling. You know you are listing your home and you will be inconvenienced, if you follow a few simple rules it will be for a much shorter period of time.
