From Bland to Grand. A Peak at a Recent Dezigner Digz Home Staging Project.

Home Stager with Dezigner Digz

Dezigner Digz had the pleasure of working with a terrific client recently that understood the value of home staging to the home selling process.  The only request that our client made was that we were not to paint any of the rooms, so we worked with the existing "builder's white" paint colour.

Who says that white walls have to be boring?  With the introduction of colourful accessories and artwork, this home was brought to life.

Combined with de-cluttering and furniture re-arrangement, this great room takes on a sophisticated, urban vibe.

How about the room below, what do you think it's function is?  Scroll down to see the 'after' picture.

This room was intended by the builder to be a dining room.  When selling your home, it is very important to make sure that each room is set up to portray its intended purpose. A potential buyer viewing this home before staging, may have thought that there was not a formal dining area.

Simply installing updated furniture that is also more in scale with the size of the room, gives this kitchen an updated, fresh look.

To those that question the value of home staging, these photos are intended to show the difference that can be made in how a home is perceived by prospective buyers.  The best part of this job, it was staged before being listed on the market, therefore maximizing its potential.  Are you ready to give home staging a try?  Visit our website at to learn more about us and what we can do to assist you.

Amazing change! Too bad staging hasn't really caught on down here on the east coast.

Charlene ~ You really opened it up!  The dining room looks great.  I can see where there would be some confusion in the room in the "before", and although it's furnished, it just looks like the furniture was put there to take up space.

You did a fantastic job of working with the bland white walls.  Your choice in furnishings and accessories almost makes me want to paint my walls white - almost.  Great job.

Wow, Charlene! I LOVE all the black! I'm doing a staging today in a home with a funky green color on the walls. I picked mostly black, and I will be THRILLED if it comes out half as nice as yours! Wonderful job!!!

VERY NICE!  Great work, the family room looks so much larger after rearranging the furniture!  Too bad the homeowners could completely remove the tv.  At least they were willing to compromise a bit.

Great work!

Kimberly - Thanks!  The accessories helped to brighten up the all-white.

Paul -  Thanks!  You should try to locate a stager in your area.  Why not be the first in your market to offer staging?  If your listings start selling faster because of it, you'll have the leading edge.

Kathy - Thanks!  You're right.  I think the furniture that was in the dining room was just there to fill up space.  Once it was turned into a dining room, it made sense of the space.

Kathleen - Thanks!  I was happy with how the dining room turned out.

Shannon - Thanks!  Plain white wouldn't be my first choice for walls, but it seemed to suit the rooms afterwards.

Elaine - Thanks!  I love working with black.  I'm sure the black will work really well with the funky green on your job.  Post pics afterwards so that I can see it!

Kristina - Thanks!  Re-arranging the furniture in the great room really did make the room look larger.  You're right, it would have been better if the TV were gone altogether, but my client was really terrific about cooperating with all of my suggestions.

Cindy - Thanks!  I like that colour combination, it helps to brighten up a plain space.

Isabel - Thanks!

The repeat use of color does make the space flow very well between rooms. Nice color accents!

Susan - Thanks for your comments!

Karen - Thanks!  The room does flow better now that the loveseat has been moved.

Kathy - Thanks!  Bright accents were needed to liven up the all-white rooms.

Looks really great Charlene! It amazes me what people will do with their dining rooms, the worst I ever saw was a really nasty clutter fest they called an office, and it was a realtor's townhouse!! Love the bar table & stools you used any chance you can share with a fellow Canadian stager where you got it from!!

Alexandra & Emily - Thanks!  The pub set, unfortunately, is not a part of my inventory.  I wish it was - I really like it too.  I rented it from Easy Decor.

Tracy - Thank you so much!

Much better flow with the re-arranging of the furniture - it really opened the space up.  By moving the TV it is not the first thing see.
