This week, I've had the pleasure of meeting with 2 past customers and it was so fun seeing all the progress they've made on their Westchester homes.
Today's customer was from 4 years ago. When he first bought this co-op, it had 2 layers of carpet on top of hardwood and just looked like a mess everywhere. We refinished his hardwood floors and they look spectacular. He painted as well, He redid his bathroom which also looks amazing, and he had California Closets help create a whole shelving system for an office. Now, it's time for the kitchen which is the last eyesore in the place. For this, he wants to go cheap & cheerful, so he'll be painting the wood cabinets white.
I couldn't beleive it, but he actually remembered my recommendation for the luxury vinyl for the kitchen - a reco I had made 4 years ago. He has a disaster of a tile job there...and to rip it up will also be a disaster, so this was the most practical solution for him, since neither tile nor hardwood would work well in the space. He told me he's been seeing my monthly emeil newsletters, so of course he called me when he was ready. Cool.
The other customer bought a nice house on a fabulous property (w/ a pool and tennis courts). He got it for a steal, and he knew it needed a ton of work as it had an odd layout, and he has the capital to take care of it. Last year, we did work on the guest house, and now he is ready for our help with the Main Feature. Almost all of it has been ripped up...except for the herringbone hardwood floor in the great room (which is probably 500-600 sf). Almost all of the rooms/bathrooms have been reconfigured. AC/plumbing has been installed and/or fixed. And, even though most people can envision what this will look like, I can, and I can't wait. Hopefully, he'll decide by the end of the week on the hardwood floors as this will be amazing to see when it's finished. I think it's going to be wide plank with an ebony stain.
It's just so fun to reconnect and to see the progress.
