When I first read about the What's My Line contest, I thought what a great way to get to know more members on a more personal relationship. The first person that came to mind was Donna Foerster. I have been following her blog for quite some time and I have been impressed with the quality of the content and the passion she has for her clients. In preparation for our conversation, I sent Donna a few questions to answer. Here are the answers she gave:
1. How long have you been in real estate?
My husband was licensed first in July 2002. I got my license in April 2004. We’ve been The Foerster Team ever since!
2. What is your greatest accomplishment as a Realtor?
Working with distressed homeowners, successfully selling their homes via Short Sale.
3. What is your ideal client?
We’ve started working with Seniors this year. Someone 50 and older needing to downsize because they are (1) empty nesters, or they (2) might have some physical challenges that cause them to want to simply the maintenance of their home, or they (3) would prefer to be in a ranch style home, or finally (4) they may have to move to assisted or independent living in a facility.
4. What do you like to do for fun?
We are both sports fans-NFL football and MLB baseball. I like to read. We also like to travel.
5. Tell me about your family and friends.
My Mom, Sister and Niece live in NJ. I also have family in FL. Most of my husband’s family lives in Texas.
Our oldest son lives about an hour North of us. He’s married and has 3 kids-2 girls and a boy. Our youngest son and his family lives in Little Elm, Texas. He also has 3 kids-all boys! We love being grandparents!
Many of our friends are other real estate agents. Go figure! I have a few friends back in NJ where I went to high school.
6. What is your biggest goal you are working on this year and how are you doing?
Re-branding our business. We’ve just begun and have much to do. We have also refocused our business on working with Seniors and identifying ourselves as Local Experts. Here is the link to her mid-year review blog, Mid Year Review 2013
When Donna and I finally connected on the phone there was one more thing that I learned about her. As we were discussing client relationships, she mentioned that she is more focused on the relationship with the client versus the transaction. In the real estate industry, that is the best way to build a business.
I enjoyed getting to know Donna and I am sure you will too!
