What's the Neighborhood Like?

What's Going on in Hope?


Boating, fishing, water skiing, tubing is a common past time for the area.  Home to the Corps of Engineers boat basin boat launch and 3 marinas ensure that locals and visitors alike can get out on the water. Lake Pend Oreille (Pronounced Ponderay) is the 5th largest and 2nd deepest lake in the lower 48 states. You can get a great meal on the floating restraunt or rent a boat at the Hope Marina. Just beyond the marina on the peninsula is Beyond Hope and the Sam Owen Campground, with over 80 campsites, a wonderful beach, and boat ramp, Sam Owen ranks as one of North Idaho's finest settings. You will want to drive slow through the area as hundreds of whitetail deer make this preserve their home. In the fall and winter Bald Eagles are often seen watching the water for their next meal. The town contains a fantastic pizzaria, Sweet Lous lakeshore dining, community center, post office, senior center.  The Historic Hope hotel is the oldest brick and motor commercial building in the area and hosts underground tunnels that were  used at the turn of the century to access the railroad. This 9,460 sq ft was overlooking the lake was restored in 1998 is by the way for sale.

Rain, I wish that I could live in Hope Idaho, I spent a summer working for the forest service in the mid 80s and fell in love with the great scenery of Northern Idaho.
