The long and the short of Homes and Condos for sale in Sandy is more than a play on words. It's a challenge !!
Chris, our Tooele Broker published a blog bragging about how few short sales and bank owned homes were available or had been sold in Tooele county. I admit, the numbers were impressive. Much less than the media would have us believe. The problem is, he didn't stop there. Chris went on to suggest that the lack of distressed Real Estate for sale was because the citizens out there were more responsible, even less greedy than some of their counterparts over the mountain in Salt Lake County. (tongue in cheek).
That deductive leap didn't go very well with some Sandy City residents. They asked me to compare. I did and I'm sorry. Tooele is still the champ.
Sandy City is not bad though, here are the numbers provided by the Wasatch Front Regional Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
Homes currently listed. There are 698 single family homes listed in Sandy. Of those, 584 are houses and 114 are condominiums. Twenty four are bank owned, short sales, or need third party approval before a sale can be made.
Listings so far this year. Seventy eight condos and two hundred forty six homes have been listed in the first 45 days of 2008. Only 7 of these are distressed homes.
Sales this year. Of the Sixty four homes that have closed, (5 were condos) this year, only 2 were distressed.
Homes under contract. Sandy has 90 homes under contract, 78 houses and 12 condominiums. Seven of these units, or over 7% were facing foreclosure.
