Trimble County Public Schools in Kentucky will be open for students on Thursday, August 8, 2013, for the 2013-2014 school calendar year.
This article is intended to inform those who are thinking of relocating to Trimble County. However, those who live in Trimble County already may find some useful information as well.
Trimble County High School is the only high school in the county, located at 1029 Hwy. 421 North. It offers several clubs and extracurricular activities: academic team, art club, band, drama, FBLA, FCA, FFA, history club, media, pep club, TSA (technology), student council, and science club. The high school also has a great sports program featuring baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, softball, track, tennis, and volleyball. Trimble County Middle School is also the only middle school in Trimble County, and houses grades 6 through 8. It is located at 116 Wentworth Avenue in Bedford (on the right just as you turn back on Hwy. 421). You'll need a supply list for each student which can be found here. Milton Elementary School (see photo on left) is a very nice school that was just built recently, at 9245 Hwy. 421 North in Milton, Kentucky. It has some very interesting programs such as technology leadership and 4-H. It houses kindergarten through grade 5, and supply lists for each grade can be found here. Bedford Elementary School offers PTA and also has a 4-H club. Located at 204 Mt. Pleasant Road in Bedford, it also offers a program called ACES, which emphasizes the academic and physical well-being of students. Visit the supply list for grades K-5 on their website. Trimble County Headstart and Preschool serves children under kindergarten age according to these guidelines advertised on their website: "Qualification...is determined by age and income eligibility, and/or the presence of a diagnosed disability.
