Call Me If You're Interested
This is true story in the day in the life of a Portland Metro Realtor®.
A consumer filled out a contact form I have on my site Buyers Agent Portland.
They want me to show them a property they are curious about.
I have no more information from them other than what they filled out in the questionnaire. But I do know one thing . . . they don't have a loan in place.
They completed the form, in part:
How are you purchasing?: Financing
Are you Pre-Approved for a Loan?: No
Do you need to discuss financing options / lender referrals: No
So I emailed . . .
Thank you for your contact.
I'm a little confused, can you help me understand how you plan on buying this property if it's something you like?
You indicate that financing would be the way to purchase, but you also indicate you're not pre-approved, and don't want referrals to a lender.
How does a buyer look at property without having their financing in place? But more importantly, do you know what your PITI, closing costs, interest rates, loan type, lender fees, etc. will be? You also indicated you didn't want to set up a consultation with me. You aren't in a position to move forward without financing in place.
Please keep in mind, not only have underwriters' guidelines become very, very strict, but sellers aren't even entertaining offers from buyers who don't have financing in place.
Did I not read the information provided correctly?!?
This is the response I received:
Call Me If You're Interested
Hmmmmm . . . interested it what?
Driving over 30 mins. to open a door for an unknown person, on a property that I have no clue they can buy/get a loan for . . .
I'll be going to the gym this afternoon!
