Pam participated with 10 of other swimmers in “Team Cohen” so named after Talia Cohen, a Mamaroneck High School Student who tragically passed away a few years ago.
“Talia Cohen, died of cancer at age 16 in November 2002. Talia was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She fought her 19-month battle against cancer with courage and dignity. ”
The various teams could either swim in a one mile, up to a 4 mile race, starting at the Larchmont Yacht Club and ending at the Shore Club with the proceeds going to cancer research. There were different ‘waves’ of swimmers (so aptly named), and there were many kayakers helping along the way (a shout out here for my friends Andy and Fiona Yue!)..
This marked the 21st year the “Swim Across America” made swim history in fighting cancer, and as an aside over $1.1 Million was raised last year.
Thank you Pam - thank you everyone..
Larchmont is GREAT!
