Unique Marketing Tips: September

Here are a few ideas to help spur you into some unique marketing ideas for the month of September! If you'd like assistance in designing even more ideas or implementing a unique marketing campaign, just give me a holler!

September:

6 - Read A Book Day - Take time out of your busy life, and relax with a good book.

12 - National Video Games Day - This day celebrates popular video games that stormed onto the market, and changed the way your kids play games.

16 - Working Parents Day - Working Parents Day gives recognition to moms and dads who work hard to provide for their children.

For each holiday, you can come up with a twist to make it related to real estate in some way. Here are some suggestions for you:

booksSeptember 6 - Read A Book Day- This is the day to instill (or flame) a love of reading. Plan to spend an hour or two at a local elementary school, reading to the children. At the end of your visit, give each child a book. Inside the book, put your brochure and 2 business cards. Or you can give each child a bag to take home that includes a new book, and any other information you would like to give their parents. This is a great way to develop a new area to promote yourself - a specific school (or schools) in your area! You can become the school realtor or mortgage broker! This can be something you do monthly - just rotate classrooms. For examples of places where you can get larger quantities of books at a discount, try these websites:

September 12 - Video Games Day - Let's face it... Video games are here to stay. Instead of phasing out, they are becoming more and more popular and more and more sophisticated. My son is now going to college for a degree in gvideo gamesame design! Why not use this to your advantage? Find a local Civic Center which has a gym or large meeting room that you can rent (some places let residents use the rooms for free). Then, locate several game dealers in your area such as GameStop, EB Games, or others like them. Arrange for them to work with you on setting up a game review day. They can supply the systems and the games - you supply the place and the people. Invite your contacts (especially the buyer and seller prospects) and their families to a day of games. While the kids are playing, you can use that time to get to know the parents and give them information about how you can help them play the game of home ownership!

September 16 - Working Parents Day - This is the perfect opportunity to get into the crowd of working parents. Host a celebratory brunch or even just a smaller scale event where you provide finger foods or cookies and punch. You'll be in the perfect position to find out if these parents are interested in buying, ready to buy, or anywhere in between! A great way to do this is to partner with someone else in your industry - real estate agents can partner with mortgage lenders or stagers. It's a win-win for all parties involved and you cut the cost of the event completely in half!

The point is to get your name out there, get in front of your leads and your contacts. Make a name for yourself by doing things that others in your field aren't. Stand out from the crowd!

Great ideas - I really like the one about the book!  The finger foods sound good too.  I need to pencil something in and do something different. Thanks for sharing!

"Read a Book Day" is a double-whammy, Brenda. You get to do something super fun by reading to the kids, which they will LOVE you for (and who doesn't want some kid affection??) and then you hit the parents, who become your friends because they also love for people to show a little kindness to their kids. Either way, have fun and be original! You'll be so happy you did!

You could even find a book about moving. You know kind of like those first books about going to the dentist or doctors.

Great ideas and thanks for sharing. Some agents, like me are not as creative as others so it's great to learn and earn with the AR community. Thank you so much.
