Social Media Fixes and Mistakes, Making the Effort Productive
Many of us know that the Internet can be a wonderful source of business and have limited avenues to grab our share without spending a lot of money. The marketing specialists tout the social media platforms as business sources but not everyone has the time, or knows how to make this work.
Social Media can take many forms, and whether we believe it or not, the ActiveRain platform is another form of Social Media.

Definition:
Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks.
If you don't think this applies to ActiveRain, then maybe you can't make it work.
While talking to another Rainer this morning, we got the conversation to the current levels of our business. As I explained that this past month has been extremely busy and that I have gotten at least 8 new clients from my blogging, i.e. social media activity, I had to take the time to elaborate a bit more.

I have received 2 referrals this past month from agents not on the platform that have found me specifically because of blogs that I have done about my local area. One was on a short sale closing in a town adjacent to a new client, and another on a community blog.
I picked up 2 rental clients because of a community blog on a condo complex in which I mentioned an occasional rental being available. I got them both their rental units, and a family member that was along gave me a listing to sell for them.
A market report got me a buyer client as it demonstrated that I had a feel for the market and had shown it with consistency over time.
A community blog on one of my over 55 condo complexes got me a new buyer prospect. Their first words were you are the expert on this complex and all we find your pages with your name all over them.
Another call was from a prospect that wrote: we need to find an agent to sell our house as a short sale. This was from a closing post on a successful short sale in the town where they live.
There is a trend that took a bit of time developing, but with the knbowledge I have gained from ActiveRain, and the consistency of posting local information pertinent to my business, I have made this Social Media platform work for me.
