Real estate prices range from $250,000 to $1 million dollars, with a vast variety of homes ranging from the first development homes in the 1940s to modern new construction. Home types also vary from bungalows to more prominent large estates which price upwards to $1 million. Many of the homes have been remodeled over the past several years with updated floor plans, kitchens, and other contemporary amenities. Most properties have large mature trees that twist and turn enveloping into large canopies providing shade.  Most homes have gorgeous views of either the surrounding Hill Country or of Downtown Austin.

Homes in Highland Park are part of the larger Highland Park West Balcones Neighborhood Association. This social active organization host many events throughout the year, such as movie nights at Perry Park, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, and the popular Fourth of July Parade and Picnic.

Schools Near Highland Park

The local schools in Highland Park are also within a short walking distance to most homes in the neighborhood. Grades kindergarten to fifth attend Highland Park Elementary School, a exemplary rated school by the state of Texas and National Blue Ribbon acclaimed campus. Grades six to eight attend Lamar Middle School. Homes in Highland Park feed into McCallum High School which has recently been named the Austin Independent School District’s fine arts magnet and undergone an expansion  of its fine arts hall and new performing arts center.
