Not a Good Idea to Express Personal Political Views on Social Media
We all live in different places and are affected by political issues going on in our areas and across the nation. There is always some news causing a lot of uproar and most of us have strong feelings one way or the other.
It is good that we have our own opinions and of course we think we are right and the other side of the coin is wrong but not good to publicize it on our "Social Media" sites or someone else's either. Here are some reasons why:
1. It can cause hurtful feelings and perhaps you will lose business because of your comments.
2. Once you put it out there in writing, it is there forever. That is a really scary thought!
3. In the future you might be applying for a job or political position, and your old comments may hurt you in getting the job.
4. It is better to stay neutral and not offend anyone.
5. Stay off of hotbed issues swarming the news sites.
6. No one needs to read your indepth opinions on a particular subject. It makes you look bad and you definitely turn off the reader. Your comments can make you sound like a raving maniac.
7. Sometimes you will later change your opinion but your prior writings will make you look like a liar and sometimes an ignorant person.
8. If you cannot say sometime positive, just do not say anything at all. This may sound corny but it is true...in my opinion anyway.
About 6 months ago someone posted on their blog about one of these subjects which is still in the news today and will be for years to come. I agreed but wrote further comments regarding my particular state and when I was done, it was like 3-4 full paragraphs and I hit submit. Of course, I could have edited it right then but chose not to and now I am sorry I didn't.
So leave your opinions to yourself or just in your close circle of friends and off the social media sites.
