While showing a house recently I noticed that when people replace the dining room chandelier they often replace it with a fixture that is not the right size for the room. That prompted me to look online at houses, specifically the dining room; and take notice of dining room fixtures.
A design hint I received a long time ago from one of the best designers I ever met.
Measure the dining room’s length and width, add the numbers together. That will be the minimum size of the chandelier that should be placed in the dining room. For example if the room is 14x14, the chandelier should be no less than 28 inches in diameter or length.
Especially when it can change a negative into a positive when showing a house.
And everyone likes to learn new tidbits of information.
