West Hartford Real Estate Market

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Premier, Realtors

How are we finding the West Hartford market? Inventory is currently quite low, even considering normal seasonal trends. Why are Sellers holding back? Many listen to the media, and don't want to list their home until the housing market improves, or perhaps until Spring arrives. But what many people don't realize is that the Real Estate market is very local in nature. In our market, this is a great time to sell - there is so little competition this time of year.

So what is a Buyer to do? We are working with several Buyers who are looking for specific types of houses, and there is virtually nothing to show them. So we can only hope that as Spring approaches, more houses will hit the market. On the other hand, it appears that Buyers are becoming more "picky". They also listen to the news, and think they can buy houses at bargain prices. But it is a rude awakening when they realize multiple offers are still occurring in our area.

So our advice to Sellers is to find a good Real Estate agent, stage your house to show it's best, and list sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the concise take on the West Hartford Real Estate Market. I'm not sure about you, but as I'm driving around W. Hartford I'm noticing signs going up and while doing open houses the past few weeks, people seem to be more active...just happy to see the lawns...lol. I think as we thaw buyer's and seller's will emerge and the spring market will have begun. Daylight savings is upon us this Sunday, yippee, I'm ready to get working!
