At one point or another we all have to audition for a job.  It simply means putting our best efforts and face forward.

When it comes to Real Estate, it means showing our best daily in every situation.  We are only as good as our last transaction.

Happy clients tell all their friends and family how well things went. Conversely, if things did not go well, they will tell everyone they know about the disaster.

One of the most important features of our job is communication.  Sellers and buyers feel as if their lives are in complete limbo.  No one enjoys the process of moving.  It is unsettling at best!

Even a call to let them know that there is no news is better than leaving them to their own conclusions.

We had a client a while back who bought a home through us contingent upon the sale of his current home.  He listed the house with us and because of the immaculate condition it sold in less than a week.

His loan process was less than good.  He was self employed and the lender put every condition known to mankind on the loan.  It was nerve wracking to say the least.

Even though none of the loan glitches were our fault, he felt as though they were.  It is important, to realize that what a person perceives, is their reality.   You signed on to hold their hand through the entire process.

Two days prior to the closing on his house, he be an to call me hourly.  It was clearly a way to vent frustration.  I did not know anything more than he did.  His lender was not willing to share, and at one point I told the client that we needed to leave the lender alone so he could do his work.  He was furious with me.

At closing he gave me a big hug.  What a surprise!  He also called us years later to list his house.  Guess you could say we had a successful audition.

Jeanne & Ralph, I held my breath until the last line of your post. So glad that all is well that ends well. My personal take is that they need to vent and we are the one who hears it all. Kudos to both of you.
