Westchester County historic homes are often overlooked by home buyers but have lots to offer. Some of these homes are just considered old by some buyers don't even want to look when they find out what date the home was built. Many homes for sale in Westchester have lots to offer but some of historic homes for sale have details that just do not exist in newer homes. Over looking historic and older homes when shopping for a homes could be a mistake. Historic home were often built with great attention detail with the finest of materials and were built to last. Details built into these homes that served a function are often copied in newer homes. When you see stone surround on a fire place its real stone and fine marble floors its the real thing. Even wainscoting is you see today is often found in many older homes for sale in Westchester . The top level of craftsmanship was not only important but the owners of these of homes often watched over every detail.

Many of the river towns like sleepy Hollow, Irvington, Hastings on The Hudson, Ardsley have some of the finest views of the Hudson River and the Hudson Valley. The homes were not only built to last but fit into the landscape they are built on.Once you enter one of these homes you will often find they were laid out for entertaining and have some of modern amenities we look for in homes today. Many of the homes often have butler pantries and kitchen size any cook of the day would want.
For sure some of the older homes do not have some of the mechanical and electrical equipment we need in a modern home but this is true for many homes on the market today.
