Red Feather Lakes pulls at the heart strings

A few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to show a few Red Feather cabins to a couple from Colorado Springs.

They were just up for the weekend and in between fishing and cooking on the campfire, they had been driving around looking for the piece of land that used to belong to Grandma  & Grandpa.

With just a quick search through the county records, I was able to find the property for them. The woman was so excited to see that land one more time- she had camped on it several times with her grandparents.

Snake Lake Red Feather Lakes, ColoradoEven if they don’t remember the exact location, those priceless memories of camping, or staying at the family cabin are etched deep in the hearts and minds of many an adult who finds their way back to Red Feather.

There is a special magic here, even after so many years, Red Feather still pulls at the heart strings.

(which sometimes makes for a tearful closing too!)

Bruce, someone was telling a story just today, that it has snowed as early as August 15 in years past.... but you know, it doesn't stay and we have beautiful Indian Summers!  ( not to be confused with Indiana Summers )  ;=)  This summer has gone too fast, but it was a great summer- how about yours?  Thanks Bruce, for coming by- always nice to see you!

Mary, we have had a good mixture of some periods of heat and very pleasant temps in the 70's to low 80's.  It was in the upper 40's last night and that is great sleeping weather!!!  Keep posting or look out for that MILK CARTON post!!!

Hi Sharon,  it's been awhile! It's amazing how many adults come up because they have so many wonderful Red Feather childhood memories....

Tammy, that particular rainbow was one of the prettiest I have even seen! Thank you!

Bruce, thank you for not doing the milk carton post and for giving me a push to post on this most important day. I appreciate that!
