Sometimes The Best Time To Get Rid Of Water Damage Is Right Now.

water damage behind waterheater.Water damage can happen in inconvenient places in your home. Dishwashers, washing machines, and water heaters are common areas to find water damage and mold caused from water leaks. Getting the leak to stop is the biggest concern. You must repair the cause of the problem before repairing the damaged material.

So as you are having the appliance repaired or replaced, fix the water damage while it is open. The wet and moldy materials will not go away, get it out. You would be surprised how quickly this can get done at the time. If you have a leaking dishwasher, for example, repair the drywall and cabinets at the same time.

If this is not something that you cannot do yourself, there are many general contractors in your area that can probably handle the appliance replacement and the water damage. Finding this contractor will make scheduling, and probably the cost, be much easier to handle.

Just repairing the damaged area is only a bandaid, you need to have surgery performed.

Definitely not the time to cut corners.  A stitch in time as they say.  Thanks for a great reminder on doing a complete job instead of leaving things half done.

Tom, now is always a good time, I cannot imagine why someone would not take care of a water leak or damage, it'll only get worse with time.

Good morning Tom. Seems so logical, hard to imagine that someone wouldn't tend to the damag while installing a new appliance but you see it all. Great advice. Suggested.

Hi Tom,

When ever there is any type of water damage to a home the time to fix and or repair is now not later.

Many owners don't realize the health risks involved when putting off repairs for water damages.

Have a good day in Sacramento.

Best, Clint McKie

Sometimes that can be caused by just condensation near to the wall board and not a leak at all.  But most often it's the leaking!
