Calvert County Jousting Tournament
Did you know that the first official sport in Maryland was jousting? This sport didn't disappear when the Middle Ages ended, though. It is alive and well and celebrated every year at the Calvert County Jousting Tournament.
What: 147th Annual Calvert County Jousting Tournament
Where: Christ Church (3100 Broomes Island Rd, Port Republic, MD)
When: August 31, 2013 12pm to 6pm

Calvert County is celebrating 147 years of jousting in Maryland with the Calvert County Jousting Tournament. In addition to the jousting, the church will be holding a bazaar from 11am to 2pm. Parish members will be selling baked goods, toys, arts and crafts, plants and much more during the bazaar. Enjoy a live concert in the church from 1pm to 4pm. A country supper will be available from 2:30pm to 6:30pm, with boxed suppers served from 12pm to 6pm. Each boxed supper includes your choice of fried chicken, deviled crab or ham, side dishes, dessert and a beverage. The crab option is only available with an adult admission.
All proceeds from the Calvert County Jousting Tournament will go to benefit Christ Church. Take a step back in time. For more information, please call Christ Church at (410) 586-0565.
