Craig- I like the open links in new tabs, I will have to set it up formy mouse..
I hate my mouse middle button. I think mine might have a mind of its own.
I have (gulp) never used the middle button...although like Jay& Michelle, in my quick test, mine seems to have a mind of its own!
Sweet! and Bookmarked so I can come back later to finish notes and start using!!
Craig, never used a middle button before, didn't even know it had a function besides being able to scroll up and down the pages. Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I can use it in the future since I currently work on a laptop and don't have much use for a desktop anymore.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who does this! It's saved me time (and frustration) over the years.
I use a Logitech Wireless Mouse. The middle button gets a workout! Thanks for a great post.
Craig, great tips! Love the shortcuts..you know what they say....work smarter, not harder. Have a Great Day!
I have never tried clicking on the middle button. Something I will have to try. Thanks Craig!
Wow, I never knew the middle button's secret use as a clicker/new window opener. That's a great idea! I'm off do some more test clicks.
Craig, I always learn from you. Thanks for all the excellent information.
Thank you so much for the information! It is so nice to get some helpful hints once in a while!
Craig, I always knew the wheel clicked down, but I've never used it! I always open links in other tabs, too, but I always right click them then click "open in another tab." Your way saves time!
Wow, I never knew the function of the middle button either. You learn something new everyday!!!!
Again, Craig, fabulous information that I can understand, use and appreciate! And I have already used it!
And I just thought the wheel scrolled up and down! Cool stuff to know (probably should have known by now but it's great to come to AR and learn this)
Wow, that's a great bit of information to start my morning tomorrow!! Or perhaps....tonight!
Thx for the tip, Craig. I really like that approach and I'm going to give that a try tomorrow. - Debbie
Craig- I am so spoiled by the little red toggle thingie on my Lenovo Thinkpad. I have a hard time working with a regular mouse. However, i do use the little red thingie like you mentioned. Thank you for always sharing your tutorials with us.
Hi Craig...What a treasure trove of information you provide us. Thanks so much. I will try that middle button. I have to be more adventurous and try things. After all that button has been there for some time. Why wasn't I at least a bit curious about it? No, I don't expect anyone to answer that question for me.

Craig, did not know apart from scrolling if there was any use of 'middle button'. Tried to click on open tab and it closed! (Good for me - as at times I am not so precise on clicking on 'x' mark on address tab.)
What a great headline! Thanks for supplying such detailed technical information for us all ... very useful.
I've always used the middle button as my "back" button. Might have to try this idea now!
Till now it was for decoration..really....learned something new..thank you !
Another incredibly helpful tip from our very own Craig Daniels...thing I never knew!!
Double clutching and saving time tooling around with the trigger finger options on the mouse you drive...cool tech talk.
I never knew this. Have to give it a try. Hope to be talking to you soon Craig!
Thanks Craig. Great tip. Never knew this info. Thank you and have a great day today!
Thanks Craig to the post, I knew that the whell did click but had know idea why. Checked it out while reading this post - this is something that I will be using.
What a lot of useful information. I need to be following Craig faithfully because I've probably missed many other good hints.
Now that is some helpful info that I have started using already - - Thanks for the tip!
Craig, people make fun of me because I have multiple tabs open all the time. It is just so much easier for me that way.
Of course I snicker when I hear them getting frustrated trying to find a way back to something they saw before...
I loved this post and clicked on the wheel to get here. Thanks for making me more tech savvy!
I have a laptop so no middle button or wheel for me. But I essentially do the same thing. I always open links in new tabs because before you know it, you're 7 clicks deep.
That's the same way I get to my "daily fix" of AR - click middle and line'em up!
I love this Craig... thank you so much for sharing it with us... Awesome!!!!
I thought I'd never get over my mouse. But then along came a MACPRO and voila.................bye bye Mousey. I'm forever long on AAPL. LOL!!
craig, Who knew what you could do with that lovely wheel. I use it to scroll but now have to try all of the other tips you gave us. Thanks
I am going to try and remember this. I may just click the center wheel on occasion to see what happens.
Hi Craig, we are keyboard shortcut users. Almost hate to have to leave the keboard to move to the mouse - too slow. lol
I just tried using the control key and middle wheel to zoom in and out - it's way better then using the plus and minus keys, to do the same thing. Thanks, Craig.
Thanks for the tips, I learned more about using the mouse and I thought I had that mouse all figured out.
Craig, Just to let you know I featured you in "My favorites" for last week. Here is the link

Craig, you always have the greatest posts. I always learn something new. Thanks.
Craig,
Brilliant!!! I really can use this right away.
Maybe I can stave off hand problems.
This is awesome! Thanks Craig! Can't wait to share this with my husband. It's funny the little things that excite me sometimes lol
Your mouse does things I don't think mine can do! You must have a super mouse, Craig! When I click on the middle button, all mine does is allow me to scroll the page. These tips sound really cool so I guess I need to update my mouse, huh
~Emcee
I like the idea of loading all of those pages at once. That seems like a real time saver.
I remember the old days when I resisted using a mouse because I preferred the arrow keys. ![]()
Craig,
Once again some very useful productivity short cuts, I really like the zoom in and out tip.
