With the ever-changing real estate markets, today's home buyers have a whole new set of concerns.  In the years from 2007 to 2012 buyers were concerned most about their plummeting home values.  Today's buyers biggest concerns are the rising mortgage rates and qualifying for a mortgage due to the tight underwriting requirements.  Also of concern is competing with other buyers for their choice home, a problem foreign to the buyers of the 5 previous years.  Dee Dee Riley reports on the results of a survey conducted by  Trulia and Harris.

If you're a buyer considering a purchase in Rockland County NY, give me a call at 914-772-4528 and I'll be happy to alleviate alll your concerns and help make your home buying experience a happy stress free one.

Home Buyer Worries - The 7 Things that Worry Home Buyers Most

A recent survey conducted by Trulia and Harris Interactive questioned more than 2000 US home buyers in June about what worried them the most about the Home Buying and Selling Process.
                                                                                                                        Worried Home Buyer
Here's what they found:

Mortgage interest rates rising before I buy - 41%
Not finding a home for sale that I like - 36%
Not qualifying for a mortgage - 30%
Competing with other buyers - 27%
Home prices falling after I buy - 25%
Home prices rising before I buy - 37%
Deciding on a home too quickly - 19%

In hotter markets where homes are moving fast, the survey found that these 7 Home Buyer worries instensify.  Read the full study from Trulia.

These are all valid worries but a good Realtor can help alleviate the stress and uncertainty behind these.  If you're buying in El Dorado Hills or the surrounding areas, I'd love to help!

Lora Leah, buyers should be worried about rising interest rates.  I just checked the rates for local banks and all 30 year programs are above 4%, that's a big difference from only a month or two ago.

Nick - Sadly, THe rising interest rates disqualify many buyers from qualifying for a mortgage at the price point they were searching in.

Leah, Those are all valid concerns. The irony is there is not much one can do about them except for qualifying and deciding on a home too quickly.  Bad credit can be repaired and buyers are in control (at least I hope they are) of their decisions.
