There is a well known public figure and musician in the Charlotte, NC area ...
He has worked with many well known celeberties such as 3 Doors Down, Jewel, Aaliyah, Buck Cherry and Kathy Matea.
He has also helped with technical support on live shows with Kenny G, Phil Collins, Harry Connick Jr., Meatloaf, Metallica, Pantera, Smashing Pumpkins and Blues Traveler.
In Addition, Eddie Z is a founding member of the well known band Charity Case, where he has served as Lead Guitarist, Music Director and Business Manager since the band began in 2000.
Charity Case is a "band with a purpose" that includes the radio hosts "Ace & TJ".
They are a very popular band in the Carolinas and due to their efforts and generosity they have donated nearly $1 Millon Dollars to terminally ill and chronically disabled children.
It all began for Eddie back in New York City where he was born and raised. He first discovered his love of music while watching his older brother and friends rehearse in their parents basement.
It wasn't long before Eddie got his first guitar while he was in high school. Within three short years, he was already touring with Baretta Red - a top forty cover band.
Following that he joined an all original metal band that signed with their very first recording company - Metal Blad Records. He's been a professional musician since 1985.
It was then that Eddie realized he had a love and true calling for engineering and producing the music. So much so, that after the recording sessions were finished and everyone was gone, he would sneak back into the recording studio and rework the tracks himself!
Since that time, Eddie has either played on or worked on by engineering or producing more than 500 recording projects.
In 1994 he opened his own studio "The Playroom" in Charlotte, NC.
The Day Everything Changed ...
Eddie Z's world turned upside down on July 19th, 2012. He thought he was going for a "routine checkup" but he soon realized that was not the case. Yes ... he had not been feeling himself for quite some time, but you learn to adapt and adjust and live with things and that's what Eddie did. 
That's when Eddie got the unexpected news that his kidneys were scarred and shriveled and beyond repair.
Of course looking back on things there were many signs that you just ignore, sweep under the rug and just don't think about or maybe don't WANT to think about.
Eddie soon settled into a schedule of routine un-pleasant dialysis visits - albeit necessary to maintain as much of a normal life as possible.
But ... Eddie thinks there is a better way and he's set out to do something about it! Not only is he looking for a donor for a kidney transplant for himself, but he's doing it in a BIG WAY that is "Eddie Style" and helping others and bringing awareness to the need for more donors. That's just what Eddie does ... just like with "Charity Case" ... he helps others!
