I'm sitting here thinking about the sale I should of had but l lost. Customers I went "steady" with all summer, looking all over Westerleigh in the summer heat getting sunburned just going to and from different homes(I think I saw every one fam detached there!). Excellent buyers-prequalified, wanted to get out of their apartment to start a family etc, etc. Loyal as could be-they checked in with me every week consistently either through email or phone and would even wait for me to get back from vacation to look at other houses and yet I lost them over thanksgiving! They wanted time to think about it or so they said. What really happened? I know. They kept putting in lower and lower offers that were constantly rejected and I got more and more discouraged and less and less patient with them. It seemed like they were looking to get something for nothing and this made me mad. I realize now it was o.k. to feel this way BUT NOT O.K. TO LET IT SHOW THROUGH! You have to be part "saint" and part "actor" and realize that they want what's best for them and you have to be on their side no matter what! If they detect any sense of opposition-they're gone! So,in case anyone is going through the same frustrating experience (which is very likely in this market)-don't throw away all your hard work because of emotions. Put yourself in their shoes, so to speak, and have compassion and most of all, PATIENCE -IN CAPITAL LETTERS! I hope I "saved" a few sales because of this.

Deborah, We have all been there at one time or another. Chalk it up to a learning experience (the hard way). I am so sorry for you, sounds like you really worked hard and I can understand your frustration as well as theirs. Thanks for bringing it up, gives us all a chance to rethink it and not let it happen to us. In this business , and in life, patience is a virtue but in some instances there comes a time when it wears thin and you cut the reins.
