Special offer

Giving to Those in Need....... 'Christianity and Real Estate'

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Knights Investing

Well, most of you have now payed off your Christmas Christmas time has come and gone... have you piad off your bills?
gift giving list, so I am asking for suggestions as to
our NEXT offering to help those in need who cannot
pay us back.

Our first gift went to Teen Challenge in Nevada, near
Terry Rasner-Yacenda, ABR, GRI and her husband
John, who ministers there on a regular basis.

And even though I have given time and money to various
members of ActiveRain© because they were in need, either monetarily, emotionally or just because they wanted to talk to someone who would listen, I want to do more and I know some of you out there have the
same spirit of compassion and generosity.

John presented our first gift in person on the behalf of "Christianity and Real Estate"
as a help to the program there and though the gift was modest,
it was a nice beginning to Giving to Those in Need
who cannot pay us back.

God saw the gift and I KNOW He has blessed those
who were involved in it...... I could give you examples
of the blessings I and the other participants have
received as Gods way of telling us to KEEP at it, but
others could argue that all the blessings were just
coincidences and they would have happened anyway.

BUT WE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS
WORK OF GODS LOVE KNOW DIFFERENTLY.

I want to re-state what the purpose(s) of Giving to Those in Need is:

  • "When you do your GOOD works, do it in secret, so God will bless
you out in public." Quoted from Jesus' words
    . (NO-ONE knows who
the participants are in the group, except ME and God --- I keep
all correspondence to each participant separate so no-one knows
who is a part of it and who is not.)
  • "When you give to the poor you lend to the Lord and He will repay you."
    Proverbs 19:17
There IS NO BETTER way than to give (or be kind) to those
who cannot pay you back, because GOD will pay you back.....
  • We do not give to get... we give to show Gods love to those who cannot
    help themselves.

What we need to live our lives like in the Messiah -- Jesus!

So, I am hoping MORE of you will join us in this wonderful
work of Gods love in Giving to Those in Need even though
they cannot pay us back. There are currently 12 wonderful
people involved in this group and I am hoping more will join.

Remember, those who suggest whom to give to and where
to give MUST be available to give the offering IN PERSON.
SO, if we decide on giving an offering to dig a well in Africa,
SOMEONE from the group MUST be there to GIVE the gift
IN PERSON.

(If you have always wanted to go on a missions trip, this
is the time to suggest an offering....hehehehehe...along
with organizing the trip with me, we will be actively engaged
TOGETHER in raising the funds for the trip above and
beyond the offering the group will be giving.)

I am driven to give. My grandfather was a baptist minister. At the time of his death he owned 27 homes. The tenants were in place with no rent increases for life. It is/was a way of life.

I'd like to see a home rehabbed and just flat out given to a needy family. Im sure there is the ideal home out there that most of us would pass on to our investors, or even aquire for ourselves. Donating the commission back into the rehab would help even further. I can help in the work so long as it is in the Central Florida area and my skill include drywall, plumbing and basic electrical.

This small gift of kindness would hopefully get some media coverage and with a little luck have a contagious effect and spread the love across the nation.

Darrel, I will be contacting you as to how to do such a compassionate gesture in central Florida..... I LIKE YOUR THINKING!! I too live in central Florida...... maybe rehabbing a nice 3/2 condo would be a great beginning, hmmm...then we could "give" it to someone?

This is a wonderful idea!  My thought would be to find a homeowner in need on the brink of foreclosure.  They may need an electric bill paid or a bag of groceries.

This may apply to a Realtor as well who may not have had a closing in a while and needs help.

It's always better to give than receive, and giving comes in all forms. My favorite, is giving of your time.  May God continue to bless you.  Thanks for your blogging about our awesome God.  Lu

Thank you for the invite.

Lu: Giving is all I know to do. Even in this tight market I have managed to give plenty, even with a severe slowdown of closings. The last few months have been a testing period for me but I haven't cracked. My bills are paid with the exception of my house payment, but I still find a way to help anyone that needs, and accepts my help. My current focus is on our local Youth Football League where I am the fund raising chairman and was a double "gold" sponsor last year. It doesnt matter how much termoil is in my life, I can still find a way to give back. The swealing feeling of making someone's day is much better than the sinking feeling of being in debt. I think we can all give a little more directly to those that need it. :o)

Alexander,

For those of us with so much, the Lord wants us to share and give to those who have not been so fortunate.

I thank the Lord everyday for all that he has given to me......I know he has a purpose for these gifts and I hope that I am living up to His expectations.

Believing deeply that we are commanded to give, I find it difficult to square the government's taking my money and giving it in their name because 1)  It deprives me of the right to give money that is taken from me and 2)  It leaves the receiver believing he is entitled instead of a recipient of charity.  Jerry
