Selling Dubai to Senior Citizens.

With everyone talking about a slump in the US real estate market, it just could be worth while to look at more focussed market segments like overseas holiday homes and investments for clients who have capital and are looking at owning property overseas and / or relocating after retirement.

Here's a post I did on my outside blog on how Dubai based real estate agents should attract senior citizens that arrive each year on holidays, and convert them or help them decide on holiday homes in Dubai.  I realize many real estate agents on AR may have a priority on concentrating on local real estate, but foreign property investment is not so far fetched anymore and has quite a market. ( The Donald could possible run his HQ from the his upcoming Trump Tower on the Palm Dubai? - While this is just my thoughts, you just never know) :-)

Read the article here if it interest you.

Cheers!

The idea is nice--now lets find out how expensive a proposition this is.  Isn't Dubai a playground only for the super-wealthy?  How many transactions can that truly lead to?

Hi Kent,

Yes while Dubai is best known for its Glitz and luxury, the fact is even at the lower end of the scale ( real estate related) there is still "shine" to the property.

A typical average holiday home, lets say a 1 bedroom apartment, starts at approx  US$300,000 and this would be in an established community.

What is exciting is the fact that there are much more lucrative investments worth considering where the projects are under construction that are even more affordable.(and there are many, at last count they said that 25% of all the construction cranes and heavy equipment was in Dubai).

Then there's the neighboring emirates about an hours drive from dubai that are also worthy investments.

I could go on, but will definitely help out with any info if you ever need!

Regards

Clyde

P.s The it's not only for the super-wealthy, there are exclusive projects and reachable ones too!

PPS. What I forgot to mention is that the UAE currency - the Dirham (AED) is tied directly to the US$ -ironically!

So at current prices 1US$ = AED 3.6 approx

Dubai is really catered more to younger individuals with it's theme parks and sports facilities. Placencia, Belize for example would be better suited for retirees. But you never can tell what the trends will be a year from now and ther'es always seniors out looking to do things that most wouldn't expect them to be able to do.  Hell why not, 55+ Active Adult communities in Dubai. Any takers?
