Tips for listing agents- Sheila Hensley

By
Real Estate Agent with Re/Max Preferred

"With days-on-market increasing and buyers shopping for bargains, the ability to

counsel sellers about the realities of today's marketplace and represent their interests

is critical to success. Three seasoned real estate veterans have put together a

designation program focused specifically on seller representation.

"Listing agents can now turn to specialized education in seller representation to differentiate

themselves from their competition. Today is exactly the time that listing

agents must sharpen their skills, increase their sophistication and learn new ways to

market property.

"A skilled seller's agent needs to be able to collaborate with a variety of cooperating

agents of all skill levels to ensure that the "best" buyer has an opportunity to purchase

the property. The Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), was created specifically

to help listing agents in honing their skills. SRS Council, LLP educates REALTORS

in the art and specialty of representing selling consumers who are looking for

a benchmark of the highest level of service and professionalism when selecting a

listing agent to market their home.

"For the last several years, it has been apparent that there has not been training for

Seller Agents similar to the REBAC ABR designation disciplines. So, (Steve Casper,

Bruce Aydt and Adorna Carroll), as authors, set forth to create a set of courses that

would take a new agent to an accomplished level sooner and an already successful

agent to an even higher level of competency."
