Okay am I saying a RE/MAX agents are better than everyone else? No!!!! But I was suprised to see how many RE/MAX agents knew nothing about the purchase of warrior one by Dave Liniger our founder and CEO. I will have the link in here from CNN where you can read about it yourself but this is truly awesome story. Warrior one was the Hummer used in Iraq that the CNN crew was taken in to tape coverage. Later they used that hummer for a great purpose. TLC's Overhaulin redid warrior one and then it was put on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Arizona and was live on CNN. The winner of the bid at 1 million dollars was Dave Liniger of RE/MAX, the best part of the whole story was the guy bidding against Dave thru the whole auction,Dave Ressler. When Dave Liniger bid the 1 million dollars Dave Ressler turned to him and asked what he was planning on doing with Warrior One. All proceeds of the bid were already going to charity----The sentinels of freedom and Fisher house Foundation. Both organizations are based on helping military familys with housing, medical and scholarships for their children. Dave Liniger told Mr. Ressler he was planning on touring it around the country to raise more money for the two charities. Mr. Ressler then told them to sell the warrior one to Dave Liniger and he threw in an extra $250,000.00 towards the hummer to go to the charities so it actually sold for 1.25 million dollars. I watched the video coverage on it last year with RE/MAX's kickoff meeting but was amazed by the agents in my office that didn't know this story. Made me very proud to be a RE/MAX Agent and last year it was toured all around the country raising more money for the military families. Here are pictures of warrior one before and after TLC's Overhaulin
