This should be a useful tool! Let's say you're a die-hard fan of Benjamin Moore paints, but the builder you're working with wants to use Sherwin Williams. How do you convert the colors you've selected without risk of eyestrain, hair loss or anxiety attacks? I found www.easyrgb.com. (The r, g, and b stand for red, green, and blue.) There is a "search" function that allows you to put in one manufacturer's paint number, select an alternate company, and then a matching paint(s) will come up.
Note: Most of the color conversions seemed OK to me, except for the "WOW!" color I've chosen - the "blue" factor in the alternates was too high.
Happy Painting! Julie
