Special offer

It's all in what you get used to and expect

Today is was 57 degrees and light rain and I had to put the heat on in my car.  I lived in Alaska for 28 years and 57 and light rain was a more or less normal summer day.  I dressed accordingly and never thought of it as being that cold.  I got used to it!

Over the last three or four years the home sellers got used to prices going up each month and buyers got used to paying what ever they had to to get the home they wanted.  Now some of the those sellers really, really wish they had taken the offer they had 10 months ago for $50,000 less than they were asking and $50,000 more than they are asking now.

The problem will be that buyers will "get used to" having a lot of homes to pick form and being able to make low-ball offers and buy nice homes for less money than a year ago.  Our market will pick up again, they always do, and then the buyers will lose out on the first three or four homes the make offers on.  They will still think sellers are stuck and have to take what ever they offer and that time will have passed.  It's allmost gone now!

Our job is to provide information in such a way the our buyers and sellers can understand and accept the situataion as it exists and not how they "got used to it."
