HOW TRUE!!!

I have always believed that our attitude determines just how successful we are. Many years ago I came across this saying and now I have it framed and in my office for everyone to look at and read. No matter what the market conditions are, we must always have a positive attitude. Even in the worst of economic times, people need housing and real estate sells.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I do every time I read it.

There was a man who sold hot dogs....

He was hard of hearing, so he had no radio.

He had trouble seeing, so he didn't read the newspapers.

But he sold good hot dogs. He put up signs telling how good they were.

He stood on the side of the road and cried: "Buy a hot dog" and people bought.

He increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger grill.

He finally got his son home from college to help, and then something happened.

His son said, "Dad haven't you been listening to the radio or reading the newspapers?"

"There is a big recession. The european market is terrible, the domestic situation is worse."

Whereupon the father thought,

"My son's been to college, he reads the newspapers, listens to the radio.....he ought to know."

So, the father cut down on the meat and bun orders, took down his sign and didn't bother to stand

out by the road to sell his hot dogs. And his hot dog sales fell, almost overnight.

"You're right, son......" said the father.

"WE CERTAINLY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A GREAT RECESSION........."

This is SO TRUE! I guess that's why you named it what you did. <smile> I think the media today is our "son" telling us the bad news. Things are only as bad as we make it!

Wow ... Excellent story. A persons attitude willmake the difference on being a success or a failure. It is our own choice to make..... My suggestion.... Choose to be positive and successful and you will be with a little hard work.

Great story, I think it is a great analogy for our industry. Agents who do not take into account what the paper or media say are probably doing better than those who believe and fall into their game. I know I am getting more leads than before. Are they great leads, not all of them, but its a numbers game and I will take all the leads I can. And I will still stand on my soapbox and shout that it is a great time to be a qualified buyer.

Hi Rita,

Great blog.  It is true there will always be people needing to buy and sell homes no matter what the market is like... if the others are taking their signs down, then mine will stand out...

Have a successful week.
