It's true! We've decided to sell our house this year and I'm beginning to understand my clients' pain!
Our daughter is ready to go to college in the fall, our sons have already gone so we're going to be empty-nesters. I hate that expression - somehow it suggests that I threw them out of the nest. Maybe I've wanted to at times but I've never been quite so blunt about it! It also makes me feel old and I don't like that feeling at all.
Our house in Estates of Forest Creek in Plano Texas is 3800+ square feet, has 5 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half bathrooms, 3 living areas, 3 car garage, pool and spa and it desperately needs updating. My husband, who's the tidiest person in the house, has been throwing away "stuff" that we've stored in our attic, garage, closets and cabinets for the past 9 years since last September. I can't believe we have so much - I'm sure the "stuff fairy" comes every night and fills up all the closets again. I don't understand why we ever bought half of it but the other half brings back memories of places and people I'd forgotten so now I'm wasting precious time going all misty-eyed and nostalgic.
