Top Producer Emailing and Spam Filter Question?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Clients' Choice Realty

I have an issue!  Anyone have an answer?

I want to use my TopProducer for emailing, but being that so many realtors use TopProducer many of the emails get caught in spam filters.  Therefore, it becomes almost meaningless to utilize the email feature with many of the contacts in my database.

I have tried and am trying to route emails through my individual POP3 account through my domain host.  At this time I have not switched over to allow TopProducer to host (which I think could solve the problem), because of the downtime in transferring the domain.

Anyhow, does anyone have a solution?

Please take time to respond if you have also dealt with this issue.

Thanks so much,

Joyce

Shouldn't Top Producer have a solution for this.  I mean that is what you are paying them for - Correct!

I agree!  If there is an easy solution I have not found it yet.  I tried some time ago and got frustrated.  Now I am revisiting it again.  I have tried the Outlook Connector tool they have which connects TP to your outlook so you can send through outlook, but still can't figure it out.

Well I will post a solution when I get it.

I am going to call TopProducer right now!

Troy - hope to hear you find something to fix this.  I use Outlook to merge with Microsoft Publisher.  As far as I know, I don't have a problem there.  Best of luck.

I use outlook and have to send 10 at a time to keep them from being identified as spam.  It is a real pain, there must be a better way!

I do not know the answer.  However, I read on somebody's blog that e-mail going to a yahoo e-mail address from Top Producer is not going through- yahoo is rejecting e-mail from Top Producer!

Yes, Yahoo, is rejecting Topproducer . I have had topproducer for a long time and if I am understanding you correctly you want to filter some of your contacts to another e-mail, what I did is I set up a gmail account and forwarded that to my Topproducer 7i or however you want to set it up, it is vey confusing and I don't even know if I helped but good luck.

Top Producer is a great data base and using the e-mail program allows you to keep all your e-mails in your client files. You can view history and see every e-mail sent back and forth.... I love this feature.

Amber: they did have a Black List issue with Yahoo and it was recently resolved. You may look at my previous post on this topic in the Top Producer 7i group. Go to my profile and look in the list on the left and follow to the group.

Hey Folks:  A more elegant solution is mlxjet.  I have been using mlxjet with TP for some time and even with all the graphics on my template and pictures, the file size is quite small, around 5 to 7kb.  It works with Yahoo, Outlook and Gmail.  If you would like more details email me at Dbrais.sos@gmail.com or visit my coaching website http://workplacelearnandperform.squarespace.com   and I will happy to share.

I'm fearful many of my emails going out from the United Courty Website are marked as spam because several don't get opened.  Good question and it looks like you got some answers Joyce!

I have problems with emailing from my Top Producer as well.  I have a database with over 5,000 people in it and it's not possible for me to do 10 at a time, would take all year!  I hope they figure out a good solution or else I will not be renewing it.

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Hi Joyce,

I'd like to hear about the response from TP. I do think that having them take over the domain would solve this - from a technical standpoint it should (they'd have control over the MX Records, etc. at that point).

Please keep us updated about this issue, as it affects so many users (of TP)!

Hello,

I talked with TP today and they told me the issue is because I have free gmail email account that I use in TP. When TP sends out the emails it going out from their server, so when it goes to a hotmail or any other account aside from a google account those other accounts are calling it spam because it comes from TP server with a @gmail.com email (they call this spoofing apparently it common for this spoofing to get marked as junk mail) so they (outlook for example) think its spam. So I was told to get an email account attached to my domain what people would call a (business domain) then it shouldn't get blocked. instead of name@gmail.com its now name@mydomain.com. I tried that still didn't work so I will be calling TP tomorrow to see if I did something wrong. I did set up my business account through google apps for business so maybe that has something to do with it but who knows at this point.
