My First Blog

Commercial Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Commercial - Tenace Realty
To be perfectly honest with whoever might be reading this, this is the first time I'm writing a blog. I've heard about them, but I can't say that I fully understand what they are, and how they work. If anyone can give a very simple explanation, I'd certainly appreciate it. A little about me......I'm a REALTOR in Ocala, Florida. Ocala is located about 1-1/2 hours north of Orlando and about 40 miles south of Gainesville. The weather is terrific and it's a great place to live. Having spent over 22 years in the Fort Lauderdale area, I've found Ocala to be a refreshing change, where people are friendly, and the traffic's not bad at all. It's a rapidly growing area and as a REALTOR that has been both good and bad for me. It was good in 2004 when investors were knocking down the doors to buy houses and land at any cost, and it was bad in 2006 when those same investors tried to cash out thinking that property values were soaring. Instead, Ocala, like the rest of the country started to experience a market correction and that's where we are today. Things seem to have stabilized and we are starting to see some activity once again. While my partner and I actively list and sell resale homes, we also have a company called Dream Development & Construction, LLC, through which we build new homes and are involved in commercial land and development projects. Hopefully I'll hear back from someone. Thanks.

Welcome Billy and good luck with your new adventure!  Blogging is just a way to let other agents and clients know about you and your methods of doing business.  Basically you are writing articles and in the process injecting enough of your personality to let others know you.

Most of us here are noticed benefits from blogging.  Clients directly come here, or the other day I got a new buyer and she commented on my blog!

Welcome again!

The primary difference between a blog and a regular website is the opportunity for interaction and making a connection with readers (comments). Additionally, regular postings lead to current and relevant content instead of static and stale like most "websites" tend to be.

Howdy, Billy! Welcome to the ActiveRain Community! You might want to start off in the AR Newbies Group, and check out all the resources there. Blanca posted a Newbies Manual with lots of good stuff. Mary McKnight also posted some great info on how to blog. Ask me any questions you might have along the way!

Welcome to ActiveRain, Billy. You're off to a good start. Writing about your area's activity is always good content, as well as any other topics that interest you. Reading and commenting on other's blogs will also give you some insight into blogging and inspire additional posts. Good luck!
