My First Blog

To be perfectly honest with whoever might be reading this, this is the first time I'm writing a blog. I've heard about them, but I can't say that I fully understand what they are, and how they work. If anyone can give a very simple explanation, I'd certainly appreciate it. A little about me......I'm a REALTOR in Ocala, Florida. Ocala is located about 1-1/2 hours north of Orlando and about 40 miles south of Gainesville. The weather is terrific and it's a great place to live. Having spent over 22 years in the Fort Lauderdale area, I've found Ocala to be a refreshing change, where people are friendly, and the traffic's not bad at all. It's a rapidly growing area and as a REALTOR that has been both good and bad for me. It was good in 2004 when investors were knocking down the doors to buy houses and land at any cost, and it was bad in 2006 when those same investors tried to cash out thinking that property values were soaring. Instead, Ocala, like the rest of the country started to experience a market correction and that's where we are today. Things seem to have stabilized and we are starting to see some activity once again. While my partner and I actively list and sell resale homes, we also have a company called Dream Development & Construction, LLC, through which we build new homes and are involved in commercial land and development projects.
