Going Green?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Motif | Luxe International Realty

I've heard folklore that back in the day, being a green realtor meant that you made a lot of money in the real estate field.  Now it means something different.

I've been looking into the "green" market.  Has anyone had eny experience with organizations that offer training with respect to being a "green" realtor?

There is a much greater benefit to this than just capturing some new markets and I would like to follow up.

If anyone can share their experiences or have some ideas it would be great.

Thanks

George

Thanks Matthew, I will look into both of those things.

It just seems like anything we can do for ourselvers and our clients is the right way to go.  With energy costs being what they are and in this economy any savings is a bonus.

Regards,

George

I personally learned a lot that made me want to do some simple things to change my own house.  Plus, I got a lot of great resources for green remodelers, etc.

George, Dena Stevens is what I would classify a "Green Realtor" and has written many blogs about it.  I am sure that she would be happy to provide you with what ever information that you are looking for.

Thanks George, I'll see what she can do for me.  I really appreciate the help.

I am surprised that there is not a great deal out there on the East Coast.  Lots of organizations and people on the West Coast.

What will be interesting to me is to find out what I can do in my own home to make it more green.  I have a number of clients that have expressed an interest as well.

Thanks George.
