We've been really progressing with the formation of our Yampa Valley Sustainability Council. What difficult yet rewarding work its been. We now have working copies of bylaws, a business plan, and our mission statement. We've filed our articles with the state and are in discussions with other organizations in Steamboat and everyone is psyched! It will be the central place in the community for sustainability ~ education and resources. The team is bubbling over with ideas and plans. Already, we have opportunites and funds coming our way! It seems to be happening so fast now. We have a rotating group of around 100 members from a diverse background. We run the gamut... accountants, consultants, builders, elected officials, city employees, service industry workers, writers, thinkers -- all lovers of the valley. With the growth and development occuring in Steamboat Springs, its a wonderful opportunity for us to create sustainable practices that will allow future generations to enjoy Steamboat Springs just as we have today. I'll keep you posted on our progress!
