HELP! I invited a Team Member to Join Active Rain, and She Did . . . I received No Points. Why?

Hi Active Rain Community,

Have you ever invited a Team Member to join the Active Rain Community . . . they accepted; however you did not receive any points for doing so?  Is it possible that the team member reviewed the e-mail, then later on went directly to the AR site, and thus, I did not receive points?  If this is the case, how can I reverse this situation?  She is a new Agent and had not been previously invited to the AR by anyone.

Any assistance that you can provide is appreciated.  I am happy that she is a part of the AR, however, I would like to receive the bonus points for inviting her.  (smile)  I am trying not to sound greedy but I do want the reward for my labor.

Please provide helpful tips if you have experienced this problem.

I have had this happen several times...rather than accept the invite from your email they do just go to AR and sign up.  I'm not sure if you can reverse this or not, but I really don't care.

Points shouldn't be our concern, I don't believe.  Introducing people to a great network is more important.  I described AR to my entire office at a sales meeting last month.  I invited 14 people who said they were interested.  2 signed up with me, 8 on their own, 4 haven't logged on yet.  No matter.

Points come from blogging, and blogging should be a great way to reach your community.  Make the blogs meaningful, find other bloggers you like and make meaningful comments on theirs, and your points will rise.

Just my take.

The person whom you invite does have to respond to your invitation, rather than going directly to the AR site and signing up.  I'm not sure if the AR people will make a change and give you the points.  The points credited are  not all that significant anyway.

Hey Uniqca. Only way that I know that you receive points from inviting people is that you have to do it from you Active Rain Account. Once you put in their e-mail address, you send it to them. You get 10 points for them accepting and like 50 for them joining. But I contact Active Rain, put the name of the person and e-mail address of the person whom you invited in the mail. Hope that works for you. Much success to you. See you in the office soon. Take care.

Uniqca, it does happen from time to time that you don't get the points for an invite. I suggest you e-mail Bob@Activerain.com with the name of the person you invited and their e-mail address and he will get them put in to the system under your name.

Hope this helps,

Hi Uniqca, that is a valid question because it has happened to me on several occassions.  But I've decided to move forward with my blogging because that gets me more points each time.  You will be okay with or without those points and I am sure you know this.  So stay in the rain and "do you".  The points are going to start overflowing.

Bob@ActiveRain.com is one of the people that can help you sort this out.  (I see now, as I type this, that someone else has already given you that advice...oh well, consider this a "second" to Todd's "Motion" that you contact Bob.)
