Do you have another blog?

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Motif | Luxe International Realty

Greetings to all from a snowy Connecticut.

While I believe that ActiveRain is a great place to blog, I was just wondering how many of you have your own blog at another location such as your own website?

If you do blog elsewhere, do you use the same contect that you put here or do you create fresh content?

Thanks

George

I use just one blog...Active Rain.  I see no use for an 'outside blog'.  Active Rain gives us the best of both worlds...blogging and networking.

I use two blogs -- this one for networking with other agents and my other one for communicating with clients and prospects. Different content.  My other blog is Flagstaff Real Estate and Community News.

I duplicate the blog on AR and then again on blogger, blogger has more users and hits than AR so it we usually post really high on google.

George, I do have another blog at brokerbryant.com. Most of my articles there have been posted on AR first. The articles I double post are more consumer related. The advantage is that I use my other blog when sending articles to the consumer. That way it is solely my branding and they are captive instead of being able to click around as they can here.

Hi George. I hear 'LinkedIn' is geared towards meeting others, but haven't investigated it yet. -Ray

Those with other blogs, are they more consumer oriented?  Do they have a Q & A type of format?

I use fresh content for each blog or ezine article I write. I write for eight different sites. One thing that happens is that a blog goes on what I call auto-pilot after a while, so I do not need to produce as many pieces as I did to begin with. Usually, you need three entries a week till you get to around fifty to seventy posts. Then I taper off to concentrate on the blog that I have not built up yet. I do not write specifically about real estate all of the time. I will write about different communities or events around town. I try to create a picture of how I want my clients to perceive me, and write posts to support that idea. Some blogs are mine, and some are community blogs, or I guest author.

Eventually, all of this work does lead to increased website traffic, which leads to conversions.

Frank, thanks for your insights.  I've been toying around to determine what would bring in a return for myself and my clients but have not found the right mix.  I decided to post some things here becasue of the diversity at AR.  I don't want to spend any more resources chasing what doesn't work.

I think it will pay off.

Best

George,

it should, but like any marketing campaign it takes a little effort. The other great aspect about blogging here is the networking and assistance that you will receive.

Good Luck in your endeavors,

Frank
