I just got done with my website and I am not real sure about it. I know that it has some of the features that everyone else's has (mortgage calculator, etc.) but I don't think it will do much in the way of lead generation. If anyone has a minute to look at it the address is www.bestknoxhomes.com. I would love some comments about how I can improve it without purging my bank account. I appreciate your time.

Hey Jimmy, I tried to search for homes but it took 4 pages to get to where I could search. Maybe it should only be two and they should have to sign in to get listings. That will capture their info for you.

Jimmy, it is a good first effort.  Now, leave it alone for a bit.  Then go back and look at it live as if you are a consumer looking for information - with a specific purpose.  Just like we have to tell our clients when they list a home - remove your personal emotion and use your marketing eye!

What does the content help you achieve as a potential buyer or seller?  Would you tell other friends and associates to go to this site to get helpful information?  Is the site easy to navigate?  Is the information laid out in a consise and easy to read format?  Is the color scheme pleasing?  Did you keep in mind colorblind viewers who search the internet for information?

My personal opinion is that you need to back up and simplify things a bit using your "consumer eye" rather than using all the tools in your tool kit.  Update often but KISS it frequently! (KISS - Keep it Simple Silly!)

Good effort at getting the technology to work for you!

Wow, Renee those are two really impressive websites. I will do my best to get on that level at some point.

Thomas, thank you for checking it out. You make a very good point. I will fix the search so there isn't as many pages to go through.

Tracey, thank you for your comments,. I think it does make sense to leave it alone for a while and try to forget that it is my site and try to use it as a customer. I think that's what I will do until I can figure out how to get it up to the level of Renee's or somewhere in the same universe.

I do this site for our local realtors group: http://www.westernareacaravan.com

And this one for our small realtor board: www.bessemerboardofrealtors.com

I'm in the process of re-doing my personal site but look at some others I assist with:

www.westernrealtyinc.com

www.cliffdev.com

all very simple, very different but easy to get around.....

hope this helps!
