Getting started in Real Estate!

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 American Homes

1988...Never thought I would ever obtain my real estate license!   Then, I was an Administrative Assistant in a real estate office, receiving a pay check every week.  Then it happened....I decided to "take the plunge" and become a full time real estate agent!   Boy, it was tough!  No training, no classes, no mentor to assist me!

Since then, I look at how far I have come, how the world of technology has changed the world of real estate as we knew of it 20 years ago!  In this challenging market, it is so important when considering a career in real estate to have the training, have the technology, and certainly the support and mentoring to guide your career into a smooth, successful, productive and reputable one...one that will last for years, and cultivate for you a referral base that will encourage your financial growth, as well as last you a lifetime.

At Century 21 American Homes, you are guided every step of the way!   From our 30 Day Up and Running Training Program, to our weekly advanced classes, the groundwork of your real estate career is one that is positive, solid and strong.  Our technology has surpassed others, and which has kept us in the forefront, not only on Long Island, but throughout New York State!

Not sure where your career is headed?  Started in an office and floundering?  Experienced, but needing to take your career to the next level?  I can help!  I invite you to this conversation, and look forward to hearing from you!

I"m new - just started about Feb 2012.  I'm torn about what to do at this time.  I like the office I'm in - location is great, and I like my broker.  But, he works two different offices so isn't here every day.  Also, they seem to mostly get experienced agents.  It's a small office, and mostly just 3 other agents are there with any regularity:  two experienced agents who work as a team.  Very busy - too busy to do any training/mentoring.  And one guy who started a year ago, and it just beginnning to get some business.

I am torn because while I like the location/broker, I'm not really getting the training I want and need.  And I'm concerned that I might be seeing greener pastures elsewhere:  they all say they have great training, but will it be any better?  Not sure.  I have one low-cost listing right now ($79k).  That's it.  It would be nice to make some money this year, and I'm not sure it's going to happen!
