Which end of the horse is which?

By
Real Estate Agent with Walnut Hill Realty, LLC

Let's face it, not all of us are conversant on, nor educated in horse property and farms. A former teacher of mine turned agent claims not to know which end is which when it comes to livestock. Another agent showed up to show a working horse farm in stillettos! (She got comfortable on a bail of hay while the other agent showed the buyers around...) We all got a good laugh out of it - she was the first to admit her Jimmy Chew's stopped where the hay and poo began. ;-)

So while not all of us can be well versed in all things, suddenly being confronted with savvy buyers looking for a farm or equine property may make us wish we'd gotten a little more comfortable with our Muckers and pitchforks.

So, taking the advice of another agent friend of mine, who calls herself 'country challenged', I thought I'd jot down some thoughts and info about horse property and all the lingo that goes with, and hope it helps someone get through one of these showings with a bit more knowledge and confidence.

Great visual Amy! I can just see the dusty Jimmy Chew's <G>

Many agents in town make fun of how our office dresses or should I say, doesn't dress. We can usually be found in our jeans and boots. We're not afraid of "where the poo begins" --  We laugh all the way to the bank!
