OK... My wife forwarded me this email last night.  I tried to find out the original source of the email, but could not trace it back to one single individual... so the author is ANONYMOUS. Hope you enjoy. :)

Got Beer... A Landlord's Nightmare
A SINGLE GUY LIVED IN THIS TOWNHOUSE FOR 8 YEARS IN BARRIE ONTARIO.  THE LANDLORD THOUGHT HE WAS THE BEST RENTER BECAUSE HE NEVER CALLED  OR COMPLAINED AND WAS NEVER LATE ON A PAYMENT.

THESE PICTURES DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO WHAT IT REALLY LOOKED LIKE.
THE REALTOR HAD ALREADY MOVED SOME OF THE CANS OUT, AND HAD CAVED IN THE TUNNELS THAT THE RENTER HAD MADE TO GET TO THE BEDROOM, BATHROOM, AND KITCHEN.
All this, yet you still do not see any dust,  scattered clothing, or dirty dishes anywhere. Other than having a minor drinking problem, he was basically very clean, organized person.  Add to this, the fact that he was concerned about his health, proven by the fact that he drank a "Light" beer.

PS. No, this is not Marc Blasi's house.  He does not drink "Light" beer.  Plus, he has an area dedicated to practice is golf swing.  As for the beer cans... alright, no he does not have those either.  But, I know that someone would have asked if it was his house, so I just wanted to clarify.

How I didn't come across this post yesterday - I'll never know.

Up until I saw your 'Marc' comment, I was going to say something about my living room - but you beat me to it!

You will PAY!!!!!

Maybe he was saving up for a down-payment on a new home.  Do they have return centers for aluminum cans in Ontario?

I love the spell checker!!!!

Ann,

I do not think Florida even has return centers for them.  I just put them at the end of the driveway on recycling day for them to pickup.  If they do pay for returns, then I am stopping the truck the next time it comes by and ask for my money. :)

Hey I work in Barrie, and never heard about this scenerio. Yeah with those cans he could put a good deposit down on a shack or just build an aluminum one.

Hi all..

Yeah, that's a lot of cans!! what a great tenant!!   Jason, loved the pic of the goats. Do they keep the lawn trimmed? just curious.

We have aluminum recycling centers here in south florida. You wont get a price per can, but you will on the weight. After the hurricanes of 05-06, people were dragging all kinds of aluminum to the recylce center. 'Free screen removal' signs all over the place.. you could get several hundred dollars for some heavy, aluminum screen parts.

That company had a mountain of aluminum and then they resell it manufactures for 1/2 cent more per pund or something like that. The owners of the recycle plant all had expensive rides and plenty of cash on hand to pay everyone that was lined up for blocks and blocks.

Linda,

Should I be worried about what the all-knowing Carnac is going to predict and share?

Nick,

The goats do keep the grass around the fences trimmed down.  That is about all they are good for.  At least they don't jump on the cars, eat the fences, or do any kind of destructive activities like their stereotype portrays.  As much as I can't stand them, they do have good qualities.  Any one want goat meat?  Did I just say that?  Sorry... when Madison grows up, she will have her very own petting zoo. :)

They should donate those cans to some homeless people to recycle!

At least the tenant wasn't throwing them in some landfill!!

I saw a segment on HGTV about a week ago that some guy built a home out of aluminum cans. Perhaps this could be a good start for recycling the mess.

My brother owns a cleaning company in Portland and he has run into this scenario on more than one occasion.  Usually the tenant has passed away though and that is a whole other mess to clean up.

 Eeeeeewwww.

On Discovery center there is a show called "Dirty Jobs."  One of the episodes talked about a crew in New York that basically just cleans places like that.  It is amazing how people can accumulate that much clutter!

On the plus side, this guy shows real brand loyalty.  The "silver bullet" definitely did something right!  ;)

Yikes, that tenant was certainly busy exploring the other side of a healthy life style. Its funny its looks like some sort of modern art...maybe he was an artist.
