Thank you for your comments!  It's great to know that others realize that this is going to be our future and our reality.  Real estate offices are becoming fewer in numbers.  Consumer savvy individuals can find their new home from the comfort of their living room by connecting through the internet to search for homes, find an agent, check out the latest stats on home values in the neighborhoods or around the world where they just might want to live.  At Connect Realty we will be conducting the entire real estate transaction over the Internet making the real estate transaction simple, easy and virtual.  Just like in the days gone by when you would visit a travel agency in a brick & mortar building to take care of and arrange for your travel plans!  Most travel agencies are now found online like Expedia, Orbitz or Priceline.  You no longer have to drive to the business to get the assistance and help you need.  The real estate profession is on the heels of the travel industry and many other businesses who are already there.

technology is a good thing and helps improve the level of communication but we need to always be mindful of the quality of that communication. And although I am all for the online revolution, we will never be able to replace the human relationships that we build on a day to day basis with a keystroke. bring on the technology and lets remember to keep in touch. All the best!

I agree with David.  As I have just joined Connect...haven't moved my license yet...The technology they offer saves me time with listings, and transaction management with all properties..but it doesn't change who I market to, how I build a realtionship with them, it changes my overhead and increases the amount of time I have to build better relationships...and better marketing tools!!!  Good Luck Laura, obviously you "get it"  I am sure I will see you around!

I agree too, because it is so important to remember that we still need direct interaction with our clients in person whenever possible.  Technology is just another way to keep in touch when you can't be there in person at a given moment - like using email and chat groups.  With gas prices soaring out of control along with other rising costs to run our businesses, it is going to be important for us to work smart with our technology tools and learn to be professional in new effective ways, while still delivering that personal service.
