Wimbledon Falls - Tomball TX - Market Report February 2008!!

The Falls at Wimbledon Falls Tomball TXWimbledon Falls is located in Northwest Harris County off of Kukendahl just south of The Woodlands.  The community is small and designed around water and all the towering pines and hardwoods that abound in the area.  The subdivision boast a scenic waterfall, walking trails greenbelts and a fishing pond.  The clubhouse has a room that can be used for private parties, a beautifully equipped 24 hour work out room and a community pool.  These are all amenities that are normally found in much larger communities.

The falls are a wonderful place to relax.  The day I was there taking pictures someone was doing a photo-shoot.  I was dodging them as I was wanting pictures of the falls and he was taking a photo-shoot of the gal around the Builders are Gehan, Imperial and Plantation homesfalls.

The builders are Imperial Homes, Gehan Homes and Plantation Homes.  Wimbledon Falls is a fairly recent subdivision.  Wimbledon Falls is one the rare newer subdivisons that are not clear cutting but keeping the trees.  It is unusual to find a newer subdivision that is still keeping trees; most of the newer subdivisions have started clearing them out .  Since it is such a recent community there have not been many homes that have sold yet.  Re-sale homes are just now starting to come on to the market.  As I was going through the listings I noticed that most of the homes that are on the market are brand new spec home.

Wimbledon Falls is in the acclaimed Klein ISD.  It is located in unincorporated Harris County just minutes from the county line.  It has a Tomball mailing address but is just minutes from Spring and just 5 minutes north you have all the amenities of The Woodlands.

Marchel - I love water so I would appreciate the falls.  Nicely presented stats as well as an informative link.

Nice presentation, Marchel - The waterfall is a great neighborhood feature. I also like the price per s/f.  We're building a new house this year and preliminary numbers put us at about $180ish including land... that's with me as the GC.

Marchel, it's sort of hard to picture waterfalls and the southern part of Texas!  Your photos help, of course!  Nice job.

Thesa, Thanks!  I have decided to put my market report with area information and it does seem to make a kind of dry subject a little more interesting.

Jennifer,  Those are of course man made falls but they did a nice job with it.  It is a great place for a photoshoot.  When I was there someone was having a professional photo shoot done; the type you see walking around NYC.

Once everything gets green again, which won't be long as I see buds, I'm planning on getting my picture redone and that would be a great place to do it.  I just thought of that right now.  Thanks for the comment!

Patricia, it is hard to think about waterfalls in the southern part of Texas as we are VERY FLAT!  What surprised me in moving here is how subtropical we are.  I always thought of Texas like Dallas which is very similar to Kansas (which is where I grew up).  I was very surprised when moving here to find how green everything is and it is that way all year.  A little bit browner in the winter but you can still see green.

JESSE & KATHY, Oh my the GC.  My brother-in-law just did that in Colorado and what a task that was.  That $180,000 price is incredible though; and including the land.  I have always heard how high Alaska was; maybe I have heard wrong.

Marchel, great job with your market stats..I love your format. It's a little more brown here in Ft. Worth than it is down your way. It was wonderful last summer with all the rain because it never got brown. It was odd seeing green grass in September!

Linda, we are much more subtropical than Dallas.  I grew up in Kansas and to be quite honest the terrain between Kansas and Dallas wasn't much different so I was REALLY surprised when moving here at how green everything stays.  Now by the end of the summer we are so tired of mowing we are ready for that brief rest of mowing Dec. through Feb.

Marchel, It means so much to me that a developer will leave the trees. Not all of them but the old beautiful deserving ones. Thank you for the info on this and I will keep it in mind for referrals. I hope you're doing well. I love your new community. Later in the rain~Deb

Sounds like a great community, Marchel.  Wish it was not so far (with so much traffic in-between) from Bay Area Houston!

Debra, we have so few communities that will leave the trees.  It makes me so proud of the community when they do.  I don't know if that makes sense; but I REALLY love trees.  I went by a subdivision several years ago when they were taking out these incredible oak trees.  It was all I could do to stop myself from going and laying in front of the backhoe but I refrained as I knew it was somebodies job.

Kathy, you are not kidding about the traffic between where we live.  For us to get to Kema take about an hour and 15 minutes if the traffic is good.  We have a sailboat and sometimes bring it down to the bay for sail boat races.
