The Half House Listing

By
Real Estate Agent with Fowler Realty Quad Cities

This is a listing I had in 2007.  I could not sell it because of its short status in the community.  I told it that if it drinks milk that it should grow up to be big and strong like the other houses in the community.  Some day it will sell just not today.

Hi Michael,

Tell me, does/did someone actually live in that house? And is it on it's own lot? Looks like there could be a few code violations on this one, lol.

When I saw you heading it reminded of someone else who told me he listed 1/2 a house. What he meant was, that he represented the wife's have and another agent represented the husband's half in a divorce sale. Not so sure many brokers would go along with one of their agents doing that today, but he was a broker-owner himself.  He was also quite the character as one  could imagine.

I owned one like this! Was the first property I ever owned in 1983, think I was 19 at the time. Anyway I just have one thing to say.

There is a butt for every hut! Good luck

I bet the basement is nice though. Probably the top of a 4 story palatial bunker. Looks can be deceiving. It's nice at the right price.

Who else can end their response with a rhyme. This is #2

Hi Lynda,

Yes someone actually lives in the house.  In around 1985 there was a fire and the house burnt down.  Instead of building the house like it was the contractor put a few more layers of block on from the foundation and slapped a roof on top.  Then you have a basement house.

Do you have to crouch down to walk in this place?  I hope not.  Is this a hobbit house?
