Closed for 3-hours!

From the amount of publicity Starbuck's received for closing their stores for 3-hours yesterday you would think the result was world peace!  What they apparently did come up with, "Your drink should be perfect, every time.  If not, let us know and we'll make it right."  Wow, that is something, right?

Maybe Realtors could take a lesson from Starbuck's example.  Just imagine, all Realtors in training for the same three hours.  No showings, no open houses, no contract negotiations, no one on MLS, and no blogging.  We could all come out of our self-imposed collective training and claim, "We will find you the perfect home or sell your house fast."

If we do it like Starbuck's, being behind closed and locked doors for three hours will get us headlines and tons of media coverage.  Just think, a few days of the media reporting on prefect real estate transactions by dedicated agents who were willing to sacrifice 3 hours to become perfect.  Heck it may even replace "Mortgage Crisis" and "Housing Meltdown" for a day or two in the press.  That would be worth the three hours!  How about next Tuesday, 5 to 8 PM?

Good points. I think training is the most important thing.  Without it you might as well be trying to sell ketchup to a lady in white gloves.

I saw someone downtown today who was wearing a button that read "I survived the Starbuck's 3-hour closure".  I have to get one of those!

You make a good point here. People tend to forget we need to keep up with changes in our business by training often.
