Sometimes when I am trying to think of what to blog about next I stop and think Blog Blog Blog!  What do I blog about today.  Do I have anything useful to say today?  Why bother!  Then I think maybe I can think of a funny story I heard or some great information I heard (must verify first), How about a hometown event?  Some times I feel like I am just Rambling in the ears of others.  But I find that when I do ask questions I get answers (imagine that)! You will never know if someone is going to read your blog  unless you write one thus I did. I hope some out there reads this.(please I worked so hard)!  I wonder if I am the only one that feels this way? Hummmmm!  Well bye for now Have a great Day!

Mary - I think we all feel the same way.  Sometimes our brains are just not geared to write something.  I'm constantly listening to the news, cruising the internet, keeping an ear open trying to think of something to write.  So many on here are so good and it seems to come naturally to them.  Keep on trying, writing is good for the soul, it's good for prospective clients, it's good for networking.

When I am feeling challenged, I try to pay attention to what topics are coming up with my clients and what might be of interest to the general public.  Yesterday, I was meeting with some new clients--first time homebuyers--and we were discussing the inspection contingency period, which was a new concept to them.  And, I thought, hey that might be a good blog topic.  So, I blogged about it.  Thinking about what my clients are interested in almost always leads to some good blog topics.  What are your clients asking about these days?

Hi Mary,

I read your blog entry and got a laugh!

In addition to blogging and writing newsletters to all my prospects and clients, I also write a monthly newspaper column and (in my spare time) I'm writing a thriller novel, and quite often I have sat at my computer with my mind a total blank.  I know I want to write on something and just can't get started.  Eventually it flows, though.

I find myself scribbling a few words on one of my business cards when I get an idea or hear a good story and when I sit down to write I pull out the cards and that gets me going.

You have a fun style and I enjoyed reading it.

This certainly was written from the heart and I understand why it can be frustrating not knowing what to write about. What I can suggest is if a client asks you a question, write a post about it and answer the question!

If one person asks it, 10 are probably to embarrassed to ask it because they don't want to sound stupid. If you even pick up one client by doing that, then your time was well served. Remember you can list a house and have 50 buyers look at it, but only one will buy it.

Think of your blog that way! Write it maybe only 50 people will read it, but if it means something to one person, it could be your next client, because you answered their question when no one else could.

Good luck and don't give up, blogging works!

I don't feel the need to blog everyday or week. I do it when the juices get flowing, but I comment everyday and learn so much. And not just about real estate. It's wonderful.
